storing waypoints on google maps for GMC at4

hi everyone!
I have a 2022 GMC at4, and I need to store waypoints on google maps, can we do it in the truck and without a phone?

You'll need to have Google Maps integrated into your truck through Maps+ (which requires an active OnStar plan) if you want to save waypoints without using your phone. Otherwise, it won't function on its own. Without that, you'll need to use Google Maps thru Android Auto or CarPlay.

Do you have Maps+ set up on your truck, or are you mostly relying on your phone for nav?

If you don't have Maps+ with OnStar, saving waypoints directly in the truck won't really work. Honestly, using Android Auto or CarPlay with your phone is the easiest way to handle it. Otherwise, you're kinda stuck relying on your phone for those features.

You can save them on your phone and then pull them up via android auto or apple car play, but that's as much functionality as you'll get. I do have to mention that after a lot of poking, this is what I managed to figure out, so if someone found a workaround or the right way then let me know.
