Way to lock out full tailgate while towing?

I've been towing a camper with my AT4 recently, and I've been curious — is there a way to stop the whole tailgate from opening when a trailer's attached?

I get that you can disable the small step when the hitch is on, but I'd really like to completely lock the main tailgate as well. A friend of mine had an old truck with a manual tailgate lock that used a key, which definitely saved him a couple of times from accidentally dropping it onto a trailer jack.

Does anyone know if there's a setting, modification, or workaround for this on the AT4?

Yeah, I get what you mean. Those trailer jacks don't play nice with tailgates! On the AT4, try disabling the inner gate by holding the upper touch pad on the tailgate handle for 3 seconds while your key fob is nearby. It won't stop the main gate from unlocking with the doors, but it helps avoid accidents.

If I remember correctly, right now there's no built-in setting to fully lock the whole tailgate on the AT4 when towing. Some people install an aftermarket lock kit or use a tailgate lock plug. Try checking with a local shop to see what's best for your setup.
