I know about apple car play and android auto, but I'm looking for something more. I spend a lot of time on the road, often sitting in one place for a long time and would like to have some entertainment, watch the news, the game, a movie, doesn't matter. Are there any devices that can do this?

Not exactly sure about devices that you can mirror to the build in infotainment, but I know there are aftermarket options that can do all of that. Basically you're getting a phone in a much larger package. Now, let me mention something. You said you're looking to use it while you're sitting in one place which is good, because there are people who watch something while driving. The good thing is that many of these aftermarket systems are designed to give full functionality only when parked.

Explore portable in car streaming devices or tablets with LTE/5G. Some people mount a tablet to the dash or headrest and use apps like Netflix, YouTube, or Sling.
